Loneliness vs. Connection
When I see a stranger on a corner do I think of You? When someone asks me for money, how do I react? What does it say about my culture when a vacation for me is a visit to an impoverished country? Society is one of loneliness. We are so very individualistic. But are we not really seeking connection? Are we all just too afraid to say "I feel alone?" Are we so afraid of that person on the corner, not because he or she is a stranger, but because that person is so much like us? That person does not simply want money. That person wants connection, wants love. When I feel most upset, if I look deep down, I am really feeling alone. Is the person on the corner feeling anything different?
